As soon as I read “Congratulations! You have been admitted to Stanford’s Class of 2021!”, I called Diana. I think she was even happier than I was. Her voice emitted joy. This goes to show that Diana was not just a college counselor for me, she was a friend and a guide through the whole process. Every time I went to Qta Palmira and was greeted by Allegra, the Golden Retriever, I immediately felt like I was at home. Diana and her co-workers are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Plus, as I previously mentioned, they really care about you. You are not just another student at DKCC, you are part of DKCC. In addition, you will make some amazing friends there, as I have. Your fellow classmates will be with you every step of the way, which makes the whole process more fun.
When I first approached Diana to tell her about my dream of entering Stanford University, I could see that she made it a goal for herself to get me into the university. From then on, we worked on every single step of the Common Application meticulously. Diana and I went through countless versions of the essays. I have never seen someone be so patient in repeatedly reading 650 words. The final essay would not be nearly as good as it is now without Diana. I can confidently say that the essay would not have been Stanford quality without DKCC. Plus, the SAT prep with the excellent professors provided with me which was absolutely vital to getting a high enough grade. The teachers were patient, charismatic, and the lessons always interesting.
I would not be packing my bags for California if it weren't for Diana and her team. In fact, DKCC was even SunnySide Software’s first client, so it goes to show how Diana will help her students both in and out of lessons. In short, Diana will not only be your counselor, but your friend.

College prep is a very stressful time for any student, there is a lot to learn in a short period of time and way too many details to keep track of. One small slip and all your plans can start to fade. This is where college counseling comes in, to help keep track of all those small details, deadlines and tips that can make the difference during your applications.
I can say for a fact that without the help from DK College Counseling and Diana I would have not been able to get into the schools I did and accomplish my goals. I have known Diana for 10 years and I can say that she is an exceptional educator and professional that does not only know what she is doing, but actually cares about her students.
